Employment OpportunitiesThe City of Council Bluffs test for two entry level positions in the Fire Department, Firefighter\EMT-B and Firefighter\Paramedic. The processes for both these positions are similar. They include a written test with a minimum passing score, successful completion of the CPAT physical ability test, an oral interview and passing a medical and psychological exam which includes drug testing. Once the testing is completed and approved by the Civil Service board, the list of qualified applicants is kept for a period of two years or until such time that the entire list is called. The current Civil Service hiring lists are effective until July 20, 2009 unless the list is depleted before that date.
